NON-FORMAT WORLD BUILDING & IMPROVISATIONAL COLLABORATIVE CREATIVITY5-6 DECEMBER 2020 / ONLINE TRAINING OF PARTICIPANTS IN DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA
“… you pitch a world because a world can support
multiple characters and multiple stories across multiple media”
Devising Worlds is a course where trainees will work within a theater devising method to develop imaginary worlds and transmedial works of art. The course takes place as a practice-based workshop where artists work as an ensemble developing a universe, tableaux/scenes “on the floor” and develop formats across media and materials. The Lab is virtual, connecting the Danish teachers to the Tanzanian participants a Google Meet Conference Platform.
WORLD BUILDING: learn about non-format creation of: story, character, world, conflicts and history.
DEVISING: try to use improvisation in a super collaborative creative proces.
TRANSMEDIA: use each artist’s skills to develop storytelling for and across different media.
Teachers: Simon Jon Andreasen, National Film School + Siggi Oli Palmason, Denmark
Facilitators: Martin Mhando and Charlotte Giese, Film Lab Zanzibar
Supported by: Goethe Institute, Tanzania
